Installing Quick Quote Upgrades

The windows version will check our web site monthly for updates. If you asked to receive your updates on CD:

The Quick Quote upgrades are just as easy and simple to install as the regular program.  The CD or disks will have printed instructions on the label, and you will need to simply follow instructions as they appear on the screen.  Answer "Yes", when asked, to search for a previous copy. You will be asked if you want to Overwrite or Upgrade.  If you choose Upgrade, any of the permanent changes you have made in your copy of Quick Quote will be retained.  Our upgrades look for your customizations and do not write over the information you have changed.  We do, however, calculate a cost of living increase on your changed parts prices to keep them from becoming outdated.

Running Quick Quote from within other SHOP programs

Quick Quote has the ability to be accessed from different computer programs.  For example, you may have a shop business software that keeps your customer record files and accounting information.  It is possible for you to be in that program, then, without actually closing that program, jump into Quick Quote, create an estimate, then bring back the estimate information into the program you temporarily left.  This is called integration.

Many shop programs already have written integration programs between their shop system and Quick Quote.  If you have a shop program, contact the manufacturer to see if they have already written an integration, or, if they haven't, suggest that they contact us.  We will provide all the information they need to write the interface, free of charge.  For their information, it is our experience that writing this integration program is simple and can be accomplished in about 2-4 programming hours.

USING QUICK QUOTE WITH YOUR SHOP PROGRAM

The following are suggested instructions for using Quick Quote with your integrated shop management program:

1.  From within your program, choose a customer and vehicle.

2.  At the item code prompt, press the hot key for Quick Quote.

(This puts you into the Quick Quote program.)

3.  Select all repairs required for the estimate.

4.  Press Esc or other hot key to return to your program.
